GPS VS. GOOGLE

Hey there Campers;

We started today with the lots of sunshine. We were heading to OK campmeeting. Lorenzo & Barbie's dad Jim took off in the Hilton and Rex took off in the truck & trailer to get gas. We were going to meet in OK City. Barbie needed to drop her car off at Nicky & Sarah's house because Rex will come back with Nicky on Sunday to work. (Yes I am the only one who can call Nick Nicky. Don't try it. You may get popped. He.. He.. It is called Auntie privileges.)  We decided to run to Wal-Mart on our way out. Well we get a call from Rex stating he was just passed WalMart with a blowout on the trailer. Why is it when we hang out with Rex we always have a problem on the freeway???? Go figure. Good thing we were still in town. The guys were great. Only took 30 minutes and we were on our way again.

I remembered there was a Krispy Kreme in OKC before we get to Nicky's. So we stopped. Mmmmmm. OK history time. OKC is the largest city in OK.

After the 1 1/2 hour drive we arrive at Wewoka Woods Adventist Center. We found our campsite and parked. Nicky and Rex checked to make sure the spot was cleared so if something came out of the woods we would be able to see it. Ya'll know how I feel about those snakey things. I just don't do them. Per Sarah, she said they have only seen one and it was on the horse trail. She should know what she is talking about since she has been the Head Wrangler all summer.

Later on that evening Lo & I need supplies from WalMart. We ventured out. I know we saw the WalMart while driving in. So we thought it would be a no brainer to get there. Boy where we wrong. We GPS it. I guess I just I need to update my car GPS. It sent us in circles. So I decided to get my phone out and Goggle it. Goggle took us right there. Since we needed other items that WalMart did not have we decided to go to Lowes. We spoke to one guy just coming in where the nearest Lowes was. He said it was in the next town. I guess my idea of next town would be like Lafayette is to Martinez. The next town was 10 miles just to the I-40 then 21 miles away. We tried the GPS again. It told us to get off one exit before we needed to and zigzag. When we finally arrive at the spot GPS said. It looked like swamp land. There is no way Lowes was ever there. Please note that all this time I also have Google running on my phone. It said we should have stayed on I-40 until exit 185. Again GPS was wrong. I keep thinking about the 20/20 show that showed a lady, her daughter and a friend in the Cally desert using GPS and how they were lost for 2 days. Thank God for cell phones and Goggle. On the way back to camp I put in the address of the camp just to see if GPS would take us back. I know you are thinking is she cra cra. Nope I put Goggle on it. Ok. By now you know who won.

  1. Larry Page & Sergey Brin are the founders of Google, which is awesome in America, but we find that Yahoo Maps work better in the UK. Our GPS (Or SatNav, as they call it here) is third down the list of Yahoo, Google and it... we got TERRIBLE directions here - we holler at the little English lady's voice the whole time we're driving... on the wrong side of the road... with roundabouts...! I will be so glad to give this car back and get on the train!!
